An institution representing the industries of a Brazilian state teamed up with Stratega to develop and implement an executive programme aimed at reinventing the companies in its region.
overview
PARTNERSHIPS FOR MAJOR GOALS
After the pandemic, the Federation of Industries directed part of its efforts towards thinking about new futures and mobilising society to recover the state’s economy and quality of life. With all this in mind, the Federation has set itself a bold goal: to make the state a world reference in sustainable development by 2030.
INDUSTRY REINVENTION JOURNEY
approach
KNOWING AND COLLABORATING WITH THE CLIENT
For months, the team from Stratega and the organisation worked together to design this programme and carried out a three-month trial with 11 companies in the fashion sector in order to get to know the needs of the industries in the region and the reality of the executives more deeply. The methodology was then customised to transform the application of the strategy as a continuous journey in individual consultancies into an education programme for companies in the same sector and/or region.
In this partnership, in addition to adapting the methodology, Stratega developed research and content for the strategy courses, held classes, guided and facilitated hands-on immersions and offered mentoring to companies in their reinvention projects.

THE REINVENTION PROGRAMME
The result of this work was an Integrated Industry Reinvention Programme that has already been replicated four times in sectoral editions (Fashion, Electrical & Mechanical, Food & Beverage, and Wood & Furniture) and is being adapted for regional editions.
The programme’s three-tier structure: theory, practice and application in the field was the way Stratega found for executives to take ownership of the methodology and put it into practice in innovation projects with an immediate impact on their businesses.
Teams of three to five executives from each industry go through the entire IDeA Framework journey with the support of consultants and a toolbook with the methodology’s tools created exclusively for the Programme. As part of the results, it is also possible to highlight the transfer of know-how and technology, not only to the programme participants, but also to the entire Federation team involved in the project.
Our expectation is that companies will recognise this methodology as a really effective tool for modelling disruptive, innovative and transformative projects that will make a difference to the company.”
Director of Innovation and Competitiveness
The Programme model offers companies the opportunity to work on an innovation project for their business using a specialised methodology, with the support of Stratega consultants and other market experts. This educational experience has also shown great capability building potential, since executives from different areas of the company spend months collaborating on a reinvention project and leading this transformation in their sectors, their teams and themselves.
For the Federation, the programme resulting from the partnership with Stratega represents a way of achieving its goal of raising the competitiveness of industries by providing its clients with guidance and knowledge for their reinvention process, and thereby strengthening the industrial ecosystem throughout the state.
